Down
the road a ways behind our house, sits another small group of buildings. Here lives Perry and his family. Don’t be fooled, though – Perry is a student
who just graduated from Pleebo High School this year, and he was one of the
first to introduce himself to us when we moved in. He has taken the entrance exam to Tubman
University in Harper, and he was accepted into a pre-college program starting
in January, resulting in admittance to the university in August.
Perry
has a sister, Patience, who has a four- month old daughter, Faith, who is the
absolute cutest little girl. She is
still completely unsure of what to do with us, but she’s slowly warming up to
the idea of these funny looking creatures living in her neighborhood :) Patience sells in the market, and we see her
now and then walking by our house.
Perry’s
mom is a midwife, and she is always around, as well. There are other children in this family, but
to be honest, Perry and Patience are the only two who sit small on our
porch. We will see Perry every now and
then on our campus, too. He was the
deuce of the twelfth grade class last year, or the top student, and the
administration often calls him back to help type up final exams or any pamphlets
teachers want printed.
It
is nice to have Perry around, stopping by every now and then. We don’t see many people around our age, and
he always has something funny to say or some interesting happening from town to
relay to us. I’m glad he introduced
himself to us when he did.
